ABOUT US

MISSION: Live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we engage the unaware, equip disciples and unleash missionaries.

VISION: Eternal Impact is a family of spiritual catalysts who proclaim the Gospel of Christ and re-imagine what it means to be the church and not simply go to church. As catalysts, we seek to ignite passionate living out of the Gospel message. Through the ministries of Missio Dei Church Community, Beyond Borders, and the coaching of John Garrick, we come alongside Christians and welcome spiritual seekers both locally and abroad to live out the Gospel of Christ.

More of our Vision

Missio Dei Church Community is a local church expression birthed out of Oregon City, Oregon. We are a family of Missional Communities united by the common purpose of living out the Gospel where we live, work, and play. We gather as people of the Gospel and scatter to be the presence of God to our world.

Weekend & Weekday Gatherings are the primary way we gather as a church to serve, pray, learn the Scriptures, and worship together as the people of God. Throughout the week, we scatter in smaller family groups (Missional Communities) in homes across our community. In addition, we gather regularly as brothers and sisters who are in similar stages of life and passions to grow together in our discipleship to Jesus. We love just doing life together!

Missional Communities are the primary and intentional way that we foster our faith and aspire to be the people of Jesus in our region during the week. In these small, intimate groups, we are on the mission of God—as the family of God—making disciples of Jesus. We scatter throughout the world to plant churches, do justice, and impact the world with the Gospel. Our Missional Communities are knit together locally through the Missio Dei Church Community, and globally into the greater body of Christ—sharing the call to be His church to the entire world. We believe that God has gifted His church to transcend geographic and ethnic borders, and that we grow locally when we connect globally.

Beyond Borders is the international expression of our ministry, engaged in developing leaders and empowering ministry partnerships. In addition to engaging the spiritually unaware with the Good News and serving the marginalized, we equip servant-leaders to disciple others. We equip leaders and ministry partners to nurture their faith in Jesus Christ while emphasizing the birth and development of missional, Gospel-centric church communities. We don’t build buildings or launch programs, but we build up people who lead with renewed passion and clarity as incarnational families of missionary servants.

John Garrick, as the founder and lead catalyst, is the visionary voice of Eternal Impact. His passion for people and for the Gospel can be seen in the DNA of our ministry, and his teaching and coaching are primary expressions of our work. Through various venues, John acts as a conduit of encouragement to pastors and leaders while helping them navigate life and live with intentionality and Gospel-centric purpose. He comes alongside the church to develop new frameworks around discipleship and incarnational living—encouraging the church to be agents of change in their everyday life, to live as a family on mission, and to create a new culture of living out the Gospel. Through the ministries of John Garrick, the Missio Dei Church Community, and Beyond Borders, we invite you to join us in making an Eternal Impact!

Eternal Impact: Our Live It Out Message Live It Out is an invitation to encounter Christ, embrace the Gospel life, and live on mission—a calling rooted in our passion and practice. It reflects our culture and focuses our vision. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we invite everyone to live spiritually awakened to the truth and grace of God through Jesus. When our lives are transformed by Christ, we are never the same. He gives us a new identity and welcomes us into a new family of servant-missionaries as disciples of Christ. No more status quo—we now live to worship and obey Him by making disciples that make other disciples. That is the invitation: to Live It Out!

VALUES:
At the center of our organization are nine core values that help steer our direction, hone our mission and focus our vision.

Stewardship
With both our affluence and our influence, we are committed to be faithful stewards of all the resources and relationships that are entrusted to us.

Excellence
We are called to works of distinction, not mediocrity nor extravagance.  Through humility, we know that excellence honors God and inspires people.

Transparency
We will walk in the light with God and our peers, knowing transparency fosters credibility and enhances fellowship.

Integrity
We protect our character and our reputation by practicing honesty and accountability.

Servanthood
We honor service to others as a hallmark of Christian leadership.

Relevancy
We strive to be culturally relevant, without Biblical compromise. We will not conform to the culture, but engage people with the relevant message of Christ.

Unity
We proactively work with followers of Christ from a variety of traditions who find fellowship with our Mission and our Statement of Faith. We affirm: “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty and in all things charity.”

Wholeness
We believe that God’s restorative grace is available to set every person free, no matter how deep the hurt or how strong the bondage.

Worship
We were created to respond to the God and our entire lives should be lived as worship to the Lord, utilizing the gifts and creativity that He has uniquely placed within each of us.

CULTURE: We aspire to create an environment where all team members are valued for their contribution and a growing self-awareness of each person’s S.H.A.P.E* is discovered, developed and honored. Our cultural distinctions flow from our identity as a family of missionary servants called to embrace and reflect the character of Christ. Our culture is a living expression of our values and a place of sacrifice for the Kingdom of God, love for others and obedience to the Triune God.

We know that ultimately He is the Leader of our lives and our organization. We unapologetically desire to walk in the light with each other and with our Lord. We do not coddle bad behavior, but we look each other in the eyes and speak the truth through the lens of grace.

We know that our job and our contribution to Eternal Impact is not the sum-total of our lives. Part of our ethos is to value the families, the communities and the lives of each team member. A healthy rhythm of work, family, recreation and community life is vital for us to operate as healthy contributors of Eternal Impact.

We are a people and a place who are committed to each others success. With grace in one hand and excellence in the other, we join hands with our team members while putting our hand to the tools of our trade that allow us to live-out our mission and focus on what we envision for our team and those we serve.

*S.H.A.P.E.: Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience.

BELIEFS: We believe in the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and are committed to living out his teachings in the world. As a ministry organization, we feel most closely aligned to the beliefs outlined in The Lausanne Covenant

Live it out is not simply a catchy tagline, but an invitation to encounter Christ, to embrace the Gospel life, and to live on mission — a calling rooted in our passion and practice.  It is a guiding mantra that helps us form our culture and focus our vision.
