- Welcome to Tiffany Butler Updates from the Road Greetings from the beautiful city of Boise, Idaho! Jennifer and I have driven over 4000 miles through Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado as we launched the first month of our working sabbatical. We have seen some amazing sights, gorgeous landscapes, and beautiful people along the way.
We have enjoyed the added rest and hiking excursions and have been energized by the amazing people we have spent time with as the adventure begins. We have experienced:
Many of these encounters have been highlighted on the Live It Out Blog and on social media. We hope you will continue to follow us on the journey. After a brief return to Oregon City, we leave for Arizona and California on November 7th.
Your intercession and your financial support fuel this ministry! THANK YOU! Updates from Uganda After three false starts, I’m actually in Uganda as you read this. After a fairly grueling series of flights and layovers, I landed in Kampala early Tuesday morning. Deo, always faithful, picked me up and we hit the ground running. After gathering supplies for the road, I had a great meeting with two gentlemen from northern Sudan who have a vision for a training center in the Nuba region there. The next day, we traveled the six hours to Rukungiri to meet with Pastor Elisha and the Amaziba team. The next three days were filled with meetings, tours, tech setup, dinners, teaching, and little sleep! One surprise is that I ended up staying at the country home of the Minister of Security (no, I didn’t get arrested!). The time spent with the Amaziba team was essential, and helped clarify how we will move forward as partners in the New Day. All the Bridge the Divide equipment works great, and will be essential in keeping the momentum going.
Today (Sunday) was exhausting! It started with a 7:00 am radio show where I spoke on Jude 3’s appeal to contend earnestly for the faith. That was followed by two morning services at Rukungiri Community Church where I spoke on opening the wells of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis 26 (Amaziba means “opening the wells”). We said goodbye, hit the road for the 2 hour drive to Ishaka, and joined Ishaka Community Church for their evening service. With about 250 energetic and passionate young students from Kampala Int’l University, I talked about the “Why Behind the What” and the vision of Adventurous Apologetics. I wrapped up by fielding questions for about an hour.
I’ll be here in Ishaka for the next three days, then it’s back to Kampala for the remainder of the week for meetings with current and developing partner ministries.
